The problem

"Give the AI a role" usually means one paragraph of persona. Nothing stops the agent drifting outside the role, nothing checks the role's work, and every agent ends up with the same generic toolkit. The roles that matter most in a household (the one who watches cash, the one who notices providers contradicting each other, the one who checks a firm is real, the one who makes sure no deadline sits unseen) each need different, specific tools.
